Only 24 days till Xmas uh ohhhh

Yup, it's December 1st. I'm freaking out. Not only will it be my 10 month anniversary in Madrid next week, but also Christmas is 3 weeks! I have so much to do!! (buy presents) which I am not so good at. I got my grandmother a scarf so far.. how original is that. I'm going to spend Christmas in Bulgaria with my mom and my grandmother, possibly my cousins.. then back to Madrid for new years, and THEN England with Dannyfor a week! Hope it all turns out good, and no flights are cancelled.... what if it starts snowing soon :( I can not cope.

Much has happened in the past month.. Paula came to visit me again! This time with the boyfriend. Showed them around, did the tour etc etc. Palace, opera, templo de Debod, el Tigre... check check check. But THEN.. one night walking by Callao.. some big premiere was going on...aaand.. David Hasselhoff was there. Yea, you heard right. That was a pretty cool ending to our night ;)

Oh well, enough about me and the celebs.. Been looking for new jobs lately. New years resolution: have a new job by the end of January. I'll keep you posted on that ha. 

Quitting Spanish class from next week. I feel it's not worth the money just to learn grammar. It's great I've learned alot but it's time for me to actually speak it. I know so much grammar now I need to put in into words. Then I can finally say, hey.. yeah I do actually speak Spanish ;) 5 languages is not bad, eh?

RAIN!

ARGH, it's been raining all afternoon it sucks!! Just got back from DK last night at around 2:30 AM, I just love it when I get less than 5 hours sleep..... Copenhagen was great, good to see family and friends and enjoy the long missed food. (My mom's, not the Danish food haha.) Only had about 3 days, spent most of them in bed with my new baby, my iPad. It's amazing what it can do! 

Anyways, even more exciting.. going to England on friday! Flying to Manchester friday morning and staying the weekend with Dannyboy. Gonna be good :) Excited for the English food now, I've heard so many great things.. 

Didn't take any pictures while back home, but I did bring back my big Nikon camera so I can take some nicer ones here in Madrid.

Wow, it just started raining even more. Awesome.

Finally fixed my laptop, stupid HP stopped working after just a year, so I deleted everything on it and now it's perfect again. I couldn't even watch a youtube video before! Hate it when electronics break when you're away from home haha - and your dad. Who can fix everything ;)

Dinamarca

Going to Copenhagen on saturday to visit mom and dad. It's been so long since I saw my dad, probably 5 months! I'm excited.. plus he'll fix my (shitty) laptop and phone so that's a bonusssss! Haha.

Today was probably my most depressing day in Madrid so far. Whoa. I stayed home the whole day, the weather was absolute SHIT, it hasn't stopped raining and the sky is gray gray gray!! :( In just a week we went from summer and 28 degrees to THIS! Only 15 today, and it was even 11 yesterday meh. It'll be nice to go home - to even worse weather - and eat my favourite food and sleep in my own big bed! And see my friends, and just do nothing for a few days..

Going to see Coldplay on Wednesday! That is huge! I've seen them once before live at Roskilde Festival and it was amazing.. so this time I'm expecting the same. The concert will be in Ventas, Plaza de Toros, which sounds awesome, I've never been! Hopefully it wont rain on us.....

Stupid stupid stupid rain.

I've been playing Angry Birds like a maniac for the past hour or so, I'm determined to get 3 stars in all levels haha. Only 288 levels.. no big deal. I'm excited by the thought of a new and FAST phone, this one is over 3 years old now and is only getting slower by the minute. Apple are so sneaky, they know exactly how to make you buy their newest shit haha. And I really really wants the new iPhone!! Let Christmas come early this year.

Brrr!

A sad 19 degrees today, and yes that is cold. 8 months ago I would be ecstatic about anything above 10 degrees in October, but now.. eh. Stayed at home, under the covers for a good 3 hours I would say before I got up and.. wait for it!!! Decided to go for a run. Yes, really. Haha, I explored the far end of my street and found this cool area where you can walk/run whatever, surrounded by trees and burnt down grass(?) haha, it wasn't green, let's just say that. Anyways, felt good even though I'm probably gonna be sore tomorrow since I'm one hell of a lazy bastard who never moves her ass, and God forbid, excercises. Did 30mins of semi fast running, haha until I was out of breath because of my shitty asthma and sat on a playground to relax. I must have looked so professional haha, thankfully no one was around!

What else........Cagliari was awesome! Yes, I know it was 2 weeks ago but I haven't been blogging. Nice hotel, BEAUTIFUL beach (although too windy to get in the water, but wow it was pretty), amazing food - MOZARELLA - among other delicious things... aaaand what else.. Alcohol of course.. haha. Got so drunk the first night after a huge anti pasti dinner (italian tapas?), with homebrew wine LOL. Probably some of the strongest tasting white wine I've had.. which says alot. And we finished all that off with a massive plate of fruit, desert, aaaand some shots. Of course. All in all, perfect weekend, would definitely go back to Sardinia for the beach - amazing..

Need food now. Hungry. I've gained almost 4kg's here in Spain, which is not the problem, I'm just starting to feel gross. Wayy to much fast food, as there is never anything good OR HEALTHY in the house! And I can't eat rice and vegetables all the time, can I... Ate salad earlier, that's probably why I'm starving right now. I'm gonna have a Bounty bar.. yea..I can juuuust reach it, mmm.

I cook pretty food, it deserves to be shown off, haha. Alone in the house = too bored to cook real food, so instead I made an awesome salad. (I told you I'm being healthy now..)
Anyways, found something very unusual and interesting in the fridge! Blue cheese (yes, this is unusual as there is never real cheese in the fridge, only the gross individually packed square ones) from DENMARK! Whoa, they must have bought it just for me ;) So i decided to eat it...

Tomato, peach, green pepper, pear, green onions and blue cheese. It was surprisingly delicious. And I usually don't put fruit in my food but this just worked.

Either way, I'm gonna have dinner again later haha.. ITALY TOMORROW! Woo, I need to pack and I hate packing!! I always always always forget something really important or something I really need on the trip.. Just checked-in online, and OF COURSE my printer doesn't work haha. Just typical. Anyways the flight isn't until 1.30 tomorrow so I think I'll be okay. 

I'm starting to feel a little sad, I haven't been out at all this week! Well except for during the day, but that doesn't really count :P I've been staying in all week like a good girl! To be honest, it's been nice to get more than 4 hours sleep......started class 2 days ago too! Level 4.. so far, so good. Learning the future tense again but this time even MORE future tenses. The spanish language must be the only one of the ones I know, with sooooo many different tenses, both in the present, past, future, subjuctive (yea, wtf).. you name it... it's HARD I tell you! Whoever says spanish is easy as you just read it the way it's spelled, well shut up because you need wayyyy more skill than that to speak it!! I'm getting frustrated because I thought I was pretty good (well, to speak with children and waiters at restaurants LOL), but then when my teacher showed us all the new stuff I was a little shocked. Either way, poco a poco, voy a mejorar :)

Weekend comes, weekend goes

And FAST, that is! Said goodbye to Paula last night, 2 days went by so fast, but it was so good to see her again! I don't wanna mention how many times we went to McDonald's, it's embarrassing :( so to change it up, we went to VIPs last night and oh my, was it delicious.. we were too stuffed to get the pancakes and french toast as planned.. I'm drooling thinking of it right now..

Went to sign up for classes once again, and the lady at the reception desk looked all confused and was like: "Eh, you wanna sign up for SPANISH? But you speak it!" - I'm gonna take that as a compliment ;) I speak it well enough to sign up for class, yeah, but I'm only half way through the levels! Gonna spanish it up from now on. My new goal is to be as close to fluent as possible by next year! I know it's not totally impossible :P But wish me luck..

Nothing new is going on really, kinda boring! Oh wait.. going to Italy on fridayyy! Almost forgot, going to Cagliari with Danny, can't start describing how excited I am for the pizza.. mmm.

Spain has got nothing on Italy in terms of pizza. Spanish pizza either comes frozen or microwaved or something semi-gross like that, and is not cheesy/saucy/tasty enough for me! Plus they just looove putting tuna as a topping, which is not really my favourite. 

Aaahh, it's gonna be amazing! Pizza, pasta, mozarella.. GELLATO :D hahaha, the best part is soo gonna be the food - not :) but probably 2nd best then.......

Because one day I'll get fat

Haven't been feeling too good lately. Getting sick a lot and eating really unhealthy.. so when i opened the fridge this morning and to my surprise saw it was PACKED with different vegetables i just had to make something. No more McDonald's, cheap dry sandwiches, potato chips and frozen pizzas in a while for me.. Not because I'm afraid of getting fat (ok, my face is starting to look a little round), but because i feel so damn tired all the time, headaches, no energy, you know the feeling.. so yeah. Chopped up some vegetables, cooked some rice, mixed in some hot sauce and voilaaaaa. Not the most creative, but tasty.

Think I can get off my ass now and do something :)

It's... still summer

And I'm not even kidding. Beautiful weather still at the end of September, how could I ever complain? 

Mom's visit went well, we visited Segovia for a day and a few other tourist things here in Madrid.. finally went to see a flamenco show, and it was really nice actually. It was at this restaurant Villa Rosa by plaza Santa Ana and you pay 10 euros for the show and then order a drink/food. All in all a good 5 days, but very tiring aswell. Alot of walking and alot of mom talk haha.. I've gotten used to not having my parents around for so long it was hard sometimes not to say something ;)

Just watching a Joey marathon now - for the 4th time probably but I love that show.. Think I'm coming down with a cold, but tonight we're going out to celebrate Mia's last (!!) night here in Madrid. Had a really fun day gift shopping with her yesterday, we probably went to all the tourist gift shops in Madrid, and me wearing my I heart Madrid t-shirt just made the whole experience hilarious haha. Got a few random keychains and bracelets (yeah, much needed..) 

Gahh I've been lacking blogging inspiration lately, I need to go somewhere and see something new soon I think. I love Madrid, but I pretty much know everything here now! Not many fun new discoveries to blog about like before haha.

September

What? Yeah, it's already September 15th! The days go by so fast.. not that I haven't mentioned that before haha. I'm excited, I get to see my mom tomorrow! I saw her last in the beginning of June so it's been a good 3 months. She's flying in from Mallorca tomorrow (yeah she spent a week on the beach before coming to visit me..), and then I'm gonna stay with her at her hotel in the centre over the weekend. We're gonna go look at some universities and what they offer, as I want to study here next year if possible. We'll see...

Hmm what else has been going on.. I went to the theme park last weekend! Finally.. it was amazing and for the first time in my life I went on all the big rides. It was super scary going upside down OMG! I would never have gone on them by myself, but luckily I had no choice ;) Haha, it was about time I tried. Also got a big stuffed Hello Kitty to take home!

Also finally went to the Midnight Rose rooftop bar last night in plaza Santa Ana. The view was really beautiful but the drink I ordered was unfortunately not. Tasted like straight up tequila haha, which was not what I was going for last night ;) 

I'm back to work now, meaning getting up at 8 ish every morning which kinda sucks, but then I have the whole day to do whatever.. the weather is still HOT! It's been insanely warm the past few days - around 35 degrees still. Hopefully it will stay like this for the following week, cause I don't wanna hear another complaint from my mom about the weather haha.. 

Ooooh, and some other great news! Paula is coming in 2 weeks to visit me!! YAY, I've really missed her, it's been about  4 months now since she left wow.. Alot of things have happened during that period of time and I can't wait to see her again! I'm gonna stay with her over the weekend near Plaza España, and we're gonna have funnnnnn. I already ordered some Vimto sweets, English candy really is the best..

I miss this so much! They should both come back, I might go visit Chiara in London soon.

My friend Krystal left today I'm really sad I didn't get to say goodbye to her but I'm sure we'll cross paths again. That girl was crazy! I'm gonna miss her and our party nights so much! Last friday we celebrated Christy's birthday.. Plaza España style haha.. I love these girls!

Whoa

Haven't made a blog post in almost 3 months.. time FLIES in Spain, no joke. I've been here 7 months next week. (SEVEN!!) Basically I haven't blogged all summer.. which was the best part so far.. met sooo many new people (unfortunately most of them only stayed the summer), the weather was fantastic most of the time.. went to Malaga and Valencia which were both on my list.. aaand what else.. went to a football match at Vicente Calderón! Well, life is just good :) I'm not going home anytime soon, just the thought is unbearable! So much has happened I'm not even gonna make seperate blog posts.. just gonna post some mixed photos here. 

So many people have left I can't believe it still.. every goodbye is sad, but with every goodbye, you know you'll meet someone new. I've really met some of the most amazing people here in Madrid, it's the place to be. If I had a choice I would probably stay here for a looooong time.. but let's see :)

No title

Long time, no post. Went out last night to the rooftop bar in Chueca (Mercado de San Anton - very cool place by the way). My friend Essi is leaving on friday so last night was probably the last time I'm gonna see her :( unless I pull myself together and go out to dinner tonight, but I've not been feeling great I think the stomach virus thing is back.. I can't believe how many times here in Spain it has happened already I'm getting really tired of it..

Other than that, not much to tell I guess. I have the next week free so I'm considering going home for a visit! Tickets are just soooo expensive and I'm already broke. Bad combo. I still don't know when I'm going home, sometimes I do want to, and other times I just wanna stay here forever. I need to figure shit out..

It was Maria's first communion last Saturday, so the whole day was spent in church, at a restaurant and later at home to watch the Champions League finale.. Barca :( But it was such a fun day, of course the WHOLE family was there (we're talking like a small village), sooo many people and everyone speaking in spanish. I feel like I could have decent conversations though, with the majority of the people - the grandparents are sometimes just impossible to understand haha..

Right now I'm starving, no ones been grocery shopping in like 2 weeks so the fridge is totally empty. No bread, no pasta, no vegetables nothing. Well, there's coke! Haha, but they seriously need to get it together I can't just sit here and starve :D

Barcelona

Relaxing to get away for the weekend! Even if it means sitting on a bus for 8 (!) hours. Haha, that's right.. almost 9 even.. but Barcelona is soooo beautiful I wanna go more often. I went to meet up with some friends from Denmark, I really wish I'd had one more day though! Because we didn't actually see anything haha, just went to the beach and then hit the bars at night.. and an occasional late night stop to Burger King, mm.

I'm so tired right now, I can't believe I actually went to school today.. got home last night at 01:00 and then I couldn't fall asleep for some reason! And I hadn't slept on the bus either so imagine what I look like right now. 

I had a good time, it was so nice seeing everybody again - after all I have been gone a little over 3 months! Doesn't seem like it at all.. I'm still kinda broke but I managed to have fun haha, even though on friday night as we were walking towards the beach I fell FLAT on both my knees on the road. Fuck that hurt, it was bleeding but thankfully the alcohol made the pain less intense hahaha.. it still hurts when I walk though, but what can you do!

I didn't take as many pictures as I would've liked because my battery died on the second day.. typical. And the ones I did take are either blurry or dark, so I have maybe a good 10 pictures left haha!

Life is good, I have chorizo

Learned to kinda love chorizo while here in Spain. Guess I've only had bad chorizo before I came here! Anyways, that was totally off topic. What a beautiful today today! 26 degrees and sunny - met up with Paula and Courtney and went to visit Templo de Debod (as Paula still hadn't been after 3 months, and now she is leaving :( aw..) and just walked around the city..

My salad the other day.. I'm actually lucky I found vegetables in the fridge! Spaniards have strange eating habits, not sure if I like it! So I usually make my own food; sooo much better.

Also went to the english book/coffee shop, J&J, in Noviciado (calle Espitiru Santo) and got a couple of old books. I've started reading alot recently, find that time passes faster on the bus if I'm reading; even though it's only like 20mins. So yea, picked up this creepy looking book, apparently a thriller of some kind about a psycho stalker.. sounds good to me!

Weird stuff has been happening lately while in the city, I feel like I get stopped everyday by either some school kids doing a project, or people taking pictures for magazines; it's actually kinda ridiculous how many times just this last week it happened haha. I was just walking by myself close to Tribunal when these 2 guys with huge cameras came up to me and wanted to take a picture of my outfit for a magazine; apparently they will post the pictures online next week so they'll contact me on Facebook.. interesting. I was talking to Paula before and she said, but what if it's one of those "Russian girls looking for YOU" -ads you see online!? Hahahah, it better not be ;)

After the storm

..comes BROWNIES! And very delicious ones, I am very proud. Went to the Danish embassy today and sorted a few things out.. need to apply for a new license plus make a temporary one which will cost me about 100 euro which SUCKS, but I need to get it done. Took some new pictures as well but they turned out SO ugly, I need to go back. 

So when I got home I was just in a really bad mood, so I decided to make brownies with Mary. Yummmmmm. Served with sliced strawberries and whipped cream, FUCK YEAH!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Gotta go back and watch the rest of the game now - please Real Madrid, win!!! But Messi is playing damn good today.. but so is Casillas with his saves! Gotta love that guy aahhh..

Good and bad times

Crazy weekend, easily said. Started out with Taylor's birthday party on friday night which went a little out of hand with too early drinking at his place and ended with me throwing up on Gran Vía at 03:00 haha. Besides that a super fun night.. a lot of Mint Quesadas (Taylor and Pauls invention of a drink, named after their street haha) and Crema Catalana. Which is NOT meant to be consumed by the liter..lesson learned! Anyways, here are some pictures.

Saturday was chill, everyone was DEAD haha, so we met up to eat chili; which was delicious, and then later on continued to Erica's goodbye party at some bar/book store (haha yeah) in Moncloa; or what I THOUGHT was close to Moncloa, so I ended up running the whole way back not to miss the bus. I have never ran that fast in my life I think hahaha, I was completely out of breath - gym soon??

So all of that brings us to last night.. sunday. Shitty sunday. Started out great, had a Happy Meal, then sangria at the royal palace and then later a bar. Got a little too drunk with the free shots we got after saying it was my birthday - and then Chiara's haha - so when we took a cab to Moncloa I forgot my wallet inside. FUCK, I didn't know what to do I had no money to get home and no credit on my phone. I thought I was completely fucked so I just started walking back towards central when I saw these policemen outside talking, so in my drunken haze I start to explain to them what had happened and if they could help me etc. They sent me to the police station and gave me some numbers to call to report my Visa card, but the stupid Visa people asked soooo many freaking questions and it was the middle of the night so I probably gave them some pretty funny answers.. Oh well, after trying to report my missing card for an hour I found out that I still hand't blocked it. Just reported it missing. God! So after 3 or 4 pohne calls I thought I was done but nooo; it was now time to report ONCE AGAIN but to a police officer. Had to describe my wallet and give all sorts of stupid details; I mean I know I'll never get the wallet back I just wanted to block my credit card.. but yeah now I'm without a drivers license and credit card so I'm pretty much screwed. Used up all my physical money last week in Alicante so I was higly depending on that stupid piece of Visa plastic.. tomorrow I'm going to the Danish embassy to try and get a temporary drivers license since I need it everyday now..

Hala Madrid?

Stayed at home, had to study for stupid spanish exam.. but got to watch the game in the home theater in the basement which is awesome!! Real Madriiiiiiiid!

Talked briefly to my dad who was like: "I'm with Barcelona, because they have Gaudi".. seriously wtf dad!? Hahahah, he really has no clue, my mom is the one who loves football.

Pretty sweeeeet basement ;) could have a party or two down here..

Anyways, we lost :( big time.. interesting game though; and even if Messi scored a perfect goal I still hate him. My heart belongs to Casillas.

Obsession

..with PINK! Aaahh, I've always hated pink but lately I've only been buying freaking hot pink things. So not me. I still hate the normal pink colour, but hot pink is kinda awesome. Look at my new purchases..

Pink mania?

Yea, just a quick shout out about pink; other than that everything is back to normal now and it sucks. After 10 days of being lazy it was hard to get up at 07:30. I have an exam at school on thursday and I haven't studied yet. I'll start later.. or something. I'm gonna be level 3! Woo, that is if I pass ;) which I have to haha!

And something I'm not so proud of.. went to McDonald's for the FIFTH day in a row. Yes, it is disgusting. I've had so many happy meals I notice everytime they change the toys. I was so excited about the Rio toys, and now they changed it to Totally Spies.. blah. They don't know what kids want!!

I'm soo tired today, the cat was lying SICK in my bed all night. Her paw is hurting and is a bit red, I am worrying. These people don't even have time to take her to the vet! And my car is running out of gas, so this is great.. don't even know how to get to the gas station haha.

Alicante

I went to Alicante! Last minute descision, we booked the tickets and went the next day. I'm so glad I didn't stay home - Alicante is sooo beautiful! Reminds me a bit of Barcelona with all the palm trees and the beach. It was supposed to rain all week in all of Spain but luckily we had perfect weather until sunday afternoon before we had to leave, so I guess we were really lucky :)

Me and Essi took the bus at 09:00 on friday and I came back last night, sunday at 03:00! Skipped class today and slept most of the day, can't believe how fast Semana Santa went by! Oh and happy easter to everyone!

I have so many pictures, and met so many amazing people at our hostel; it was all so much better than I imagined. We stayed at the X-Hostel (haha), very close to the bus station and the center/beach. All in all a very good experience, the staff; Phil and Daniel, were really friendly and young, and all the guests were up for partying! It was nice that we could sit and pre-drink in the common area all together before going out. I would recommend that place if you are going to Alicante - they also have the same hostel in Varna, Bulgaria.

On saturday we went to another city, Benidorm, which is 1 hour away by Tram (the tram is their kind of metro/train). Benidorm is pretty different, first of all it's not as beautiful and second it was full of tourists and souvenir shops. We only spent 4 hours there, but I wouldn't go again it was really nothing special.. I bought a Sponge Bob t-shirt though! Hahaha, that'll be usefull..

Anyways, I can't wait to go on my next trip now! Next up is probably Valencia, Gandía or maybe Lisboa.. beach time soon!! It's so worth it to go somewhere even just for the weekend, you can get tired of Madrid pretty quick as you see the same places everyday. But I still love Madrid so much, Spain just has so many places to see!

Superbreakfast

I love cooking; and especially breakfast. I feel like it's the one meal you can be the most creative. Maybe that's partially because I can eat ANYTHING for breakfast and not just the usual cereal/yoghurt/fruit whatever. That's boring, pizza is so much more fun for breakfast ;) still one of my favourites is eggs. I love eggs, so when I woke up today at 13:00, slightly hungover I was in the mood for eggs.. so I made some!

Always when I fry two eggs, one of the yolks breaks :( other than that, I think it turned out pretty good, plus it was delicious..

Toast, cheese, fried ham - yes I fry everything, egg, tomatoes = awesome. And you have to have your daily glass of milk!!! Hahahaha.

I can eat a ton for breakfast, only if I had time during the week.. the other day when I was really late I threw this together which was surprisingly good; yoghurt, frosted flakes and fresh strawberries YUM!

El Clásico

Yup, Real Madrid - Barca again tonight! I'm excited, didn't even go to school today I wanna be fresh the whole night haha. Plus it's a bit depressing outside it's so annoying!! We still haven't bought any tickets because now apparently all the hostels everywhere are booked and I don't know what I'm gonna do :( I wanted to go to the beach so bad but it's only gonna be 17-19 degrees in all of Spain + rain. Which sucks!

Went to the cinema yesterday, the one near Tirso De Molina - Yelmo. Anyways, we watched Source Code (Codigo Fuente), and it was surprisingly good. I had quite high expectations becasue the trailer looked awesome so I was happy. I'm recomending it, especially if you like Jake Gyllenhall ;) 

Also went to Musel Del Jamón and had sangria - and of course jamón haha.. I think we sat there for 2-3 hours it was really fun, plus it was raining outside! I love that place, it's really cheap compared to the location and that it's a much visited place by tourists. The portions are quite big and the sangria is good! 

Not so great news are that my tragus piercing does NOT look good! I don't know what's happening I've never really had any piercings getting infected but this just keeps hurting :( hmm..
