Hala Madrid?

Stayed at home, had to study for stupid spanish exam.. but got to watch the game in the home theater in the basement which is awesome!! Real Madriiiiiiiid!
Talked briefly to my dad who was like: "I'm with Barcelona, because they have Gaudi".. seriously wtf dad!? Hahahah, he really has no clue, my mom is the one who loves football.

Pretty sweeeeet basement ;) could have a party or two down here..

Anyways, we lost :( big time.. interesting game though; and even if Messi scored a perfect goal I still hate him. My heart belongs to Casillas.

Better luck next time Real!

Obsession

..with PINK! Aaahh, I've always hated pink but lately I've only been buying freaking hot pink things. So not me. I still hate the normal pink colour, but hot pink is kinda awesome. Look at my new purchases..

Pink mania?

Yea, just a quick shout out about pink; other than that everything is back to normal now and it sucks. After 10 days of being lazy it was hard to get up at 07:30. I have an exam at school on thursday and I haven't studied yet. I'll start later.. or something. I'm gonna be level 3! Woo, that is if I pass ;) which I have to haha!

And something I'm not so proud of.. went to McDonald's for the FIFTH day in a row. Yes, it is disgusting. I've had so many happy meals I notice everytime they change the toys. I was so excited about the Rio toys, and now they changed it to Totally Spies.. blah. They don't know what kids want!!

I'm soo tired today, the cat was lying SICK in my bed all night. Her paw is hurting and is a bit red, I am worrying. These people don't even have time to take her to the vet! And my car is running out of gas, so this is great.. don't even know how to get to the gas station haha.

Wow, I should make more interesting updates..

Alicante

I went to Alicante! Last minute descision, we booked the tickets and went the next day. I'm so glad I didn't stay home - Alicante is sooo beautiful! Reminds me a bit of Barcelona with all the palm trees and the beach. It was supposed to rain all week in all of Spain but luckily we had perfect weather until sunday afternoon before we had to leave, so I guess we were really lucky :)

Me and Essi took the bus at 09:00 on friday and I came back last night, sunday at 03:00! Skipped class today and slept most of the day, can't believe how fast Semana Santa went by! Oh and happy easter to everyone!
I have so many pictures, and met so many amazing people at our hostel; it was all so much better than I imagined. We stayed at the X-Hostel (haha), very close to the bus station and the center/beach. All in all a very good experience, the staff; Phil and Daniel, were really friendly and young, and all the guests were up for partying! It was nice that we could sit and pre-drink in the common area all together before going out. I would recommend that place if you are going to Alicante - they also have the same hostel in Varna, Bulgaria.

Group photo of the hostel crew on night 1, and below; me and Phil (one of the owners)

On saturday we went to another city, Benidorm, which is 1 hour away by Tram (the tram is their kind of metro/train). Benidorm is pretty different, first of all it's not as beautiful and second it was full of tourists and souvenir shops. We only spent 4 hours there, but I wouldn't go again it was really nothing special.. I bought a Sponge Bob t-shirt though! Hahaha, that'll be usefull..

The harbour in Alicante. How can you NOT enjoy jogging here!?

Anyways, I can't wait to go on my next trip now! Next up is probably Valencia, Gandía or maybe Lisboa.. beach time soon!! It's so worth it to go somewhere even just for the weekend, you can get tired of Madrid pretty quick as you see the same places everyday. But I still love Madrid so much, Spain just has so many places to see!

Castillo de Santa Barbara. You could walk all the way up but we took the lift, of course..

Superbreakfast

I love cooking; and especially breakfast. I feel like it's the one meal you can be the most creative. Maybe that's partially because I can eat ANYTHING for breakfast and not just the usual cereal/yoghurt/fruit whatever. That's boring, pizza is so much more fun for breakfast ;) still one of my favourites is eggs. I love eggs, so when I woke up today at 13:00, slightly hungover I was in the mood for eggs.. so I made some!

Always when I fry two eggs, one of the yolks breaks :( other than that, I think it turned out pretty good, plus it was delicious..

Toast, cheese, fried ham - yes I fry everything, egg, tomatoes = awesome. And you have to have your daily glass of milk!!! Hahahaha.

I can eat a ton for breakfast, only if I had time during the week.. the other day when I was really late I threw this together which was surprisingly good; yoghurt, frosted flakes and fresh strawberries YUM!

Sorry for the random food post, I just love to eat..
and take pictures of my food hahaha

El Clásico

Yup, Real Madrid - Barca again tonight! I'm excited, didn't even go to school today I wanna be fresh the whole night haha. Plus it's a bit depressing outside it's so annoying!! We still haven't bought any tickets because now apparently all the hostels everywhere are booked and I don't know what I'm gonna do :( I wanted to go to the beach so bad but it's only gonna be 17-19 degrees in all of Spain + rain. Which sucks!

Went to the cinema yesterday, the one near Tirso De Molina - Yelmo. Anyways, we watched Source Code (Codigo Fuente), and it was surprisingly good. I had quite high expectations becasue the trailer looked awesome so I was happy. I'm recomending it, especially if you like Jake Gyllenhall ;)

Also went to Musel Del Jamón and had sangria - and of course jamón haha.. I think we sat there for 2-3 hours it was really fun, plus it was raining outside! I love that place, it's really cheap compared to the location and that it's a much visited place by tourists. The portions are quite big and the sangria is good!

Not so great news are that my tragus piercing does NOT look good! I don't know what's happening I've never really had any piercings getting infected but this just keeps hurting :( hmm..

Feelin fly

Not feeling inspirational today.. nothing new is happening right now! Had a fun weekend for the most part though - went to Templo de Debod on friday night with some new friends and had Sangria until the police came and scared us to death by taking our ID's and saying we are not aloud to drink outside haha. That was..fun. So we continued to Tribunal, Plaza dos de mayo and then a bar close to; which closed at like 02:00?! We were in the middle of conversation and suddenly they turned on all the lights and started closing, that was wayyy to early! But we continued to this other small bar/disco thing, my memory is really unclear at this point, I should not have mixed sangria with vodka... But yea, all in all a very fun night :)

Watched the game on saturday, El Clásico! Real Madrid - FC Barcelona. Missed the first half, due to dinner at this italian restaurant, but the 2nd half was where all the action was! 2 goals, both penalties - awesome game. 1-1, so at least RM didn't loose ;)
Sunday was a chill day, the grandparents were over for lunch so of course again with the octopus haha.. I can't say it's my favourite, I've tried but I don't like it.

The weather is cooling down a bit, it has "only" been around 17-20 degrees these days and it's supposed to rain the whole week. Great. At least I'm free from wednesday, I really need to buy my busticket for the beach asap!

Had the stomach virus flu thing for a couple of days again, but I should be good now. That explains the ugly face.

They see me rollin'

I got in the car, set the air conditioner to 18 degrees, rolled down all the windows (yea stupid with the AC on I know), put Lil Wayne on full blast, put my shades on and went to pick up the kid. I felt pretty cool pulling up in the parking lot, I got some stares.. ya know. They probably thought I was famous. Or insane. haha.

So now I'm at home, trying to deal with Maria - bribing her with Oreos. That works every time. For like 10mins. Dammit. I have no energy to play haha, fucking lazy..
I was actually for once in my life tanning yesterday. I usually hate it but I decided to put on my bikini and lie in the garden. It was nice, except for they are doing contruction work next door and there was tons of workers yelling and drilling. I got dust all over me, hm.

Paula is leaving for holiday tomorrow so I'm all alone in Las Matas! :( I'm trying to plan going to the beach with Essi in semana santa.. I wanteed Valencia or Alicante, but it's a bit expensive to fly and the bus is just too slow. But we'll figure something out!

Kisses from sunny Madrid

Mamma Mia, here we go again

Just doing a lil Mamma Mia karaoke with Maria.. ya know, the usual. Hahah it was so bad I actually told her to stop. Fun day today, people are really starting to loose the coats and jackets.. haha it was 28 degrees!!
I have a lot to tell, last week and this weekend have been pretty hectic.

Where to start.. I've been in Lavapies quite a few times to play ping pont outisde, which is awesome btw. Had Indian and Senegalese food, both nice. Except the Chicken Tikka Masala which was LOADED with coconut! Milk and dried flakes. Wow, that was really bad. But besides that we had really good samosas from this little grocery(?) shop haha for 1 euro a piece.

SAMOSA!

and senegalese food..

I really like this area, it's alot different from Sol which can get a bit too tourist-y. There are alot of foreign shops which sell jewellery, clothes etc.. and chinese crap haha. Of course.

Hmm what else.. friday night I went to Essi's house and we had a BBQ! We had a really good time, and finally called a cab at 3 in the morning to go to this club Gabana. I spent too much money that night, not good. It's a pretty expensive place, but so are most clubs here. Apparently it's a club Ronaldo goes to haha ;)

Saturday was more chill, I slept almost the whole day and then met up with the girls at night to have sangria at Plaza de Dos de Mayo. I love that plaza, it's in Malesaña and there's always TONS of people there. I love that you can just sit outside and chill, have a beer and not be cold!!

Then yesterday, sunday, i met up with the american crew + Essi, and played (well I only watched this time) ping pong and chilled in Lavapies again. Oh and watched golf! Hahahah... btw Real Madrid are playing tomorrow. Tottenham is going down. Again!

This is the park we played ping pong in

That was pretty much the recap, I've been a little lazy with the blogging. I'm blaming it on the heat!

Oh, and me in Retiro

2 months

Pretty obvious title, so yeah today I've been exactly 2 months in Madrid.. I really can't believe it, 2 months sound like such a long time but it doesn't feel that way at all. There's still so much I haven't seen and done, I need to get moving! I only have like.. well I don't know exactly how long I'm staying but I should have about 3 months? Hmm, anyways. Another FAABBBB day today, alot of driving though. I'm getting good at this haha.

Not really that much to tell, I'm just so tired everyday and I've slept very few hours.. not good.
On the other side I would say my spanish is improving, yay? I'm soon to be level 3 at school, I'm so happy. I just need to TALK MORE!

Falling asleep now,

hasta luego

Monday nights

Well well.. today was a beautiful day, 25 degrees, clear skies and no wind. This week it's supposed to get to 28 degrees, that is absolutely insane in the beginning of April haha. But I'm not complaining.
Had another easy day, Maria had a birthday party so I didn't need to be home. Went exploring in La Latina, and I'm in love! I love that neighbourhood it's so cozy and quiet with small balconies and foreign shops and restaurants. Had a samosa and it was delicious, and then had COLACAO (cocoa haha) at the cutest little café/reading place. If that makes sense.

I love Madrid, I am so glad I moved here.. when the weather is beautiful all the bad stuff just goes away. Not that I have alot of bad stuff at this very moment, but you get me. I'm so grateful for all the lovely people I've met already and hopefully there are more to come. It's just been a really happy day..

I love you guys!

xoxo
